Courage Within Women Without Shelter

This exhibition at the Monterey Museum of Art (2022) brings together the work of a local artist collective, Critical Ground, and over 50 local women without shelter. The exhibition is the culmination of a multi-year partnership project designed to use the transformative power of art to reach this vulnerable population and to bring more attention to the issue of un-housed women in our community.

My work for this exhibition explores the experience of being looked at and judged while remaining unseen. We naturally all want to be seen and heard in the world, yet for women living with homelessness, identity exposure is too great a risk to their safety and pride.
